Driver Policy

These Driver Terms govern your use of the Bantu App and Platform to provide Transportation Services (“Services”). By registering as a Driver, you agree to these terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not register or use the Services.

1. Definitions

  • Bantu App / Platform: Technology connecting Drivers and Passengers for ride services.
  • Driver: You, an individual or entity providing Transportation Services via Bantu.
  • Passenger: A person requesting a ride through the Bantu App.
  • Fare: The amount paid by a Passenger for each completed trip.
  • Subscription Fee: The recurring fee you pay to Bantu to remain active and receive ride requests.

2. Registration & Account

  • Complete the online application with accurate personal and vehicle information and upload:
    • A valid driver’s license;
    • Proof of current motor vehicle insurance;
    • Vehicle registration and inspection certificates;
    • Any other documents we request by email.
  • Maintain the validity of all documents. We may audit and suspend accounts missing required credentials.
  • Keep your username and password confidential. Do not share or transfer your Driver Account.

3. Subscription & App Use

  • To receive ride requests, you must subscribe to one of our driver plans and keep your subscription active.
  • The subscription fee grants you a non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Bantu App solely to provide Services.
  • Do not reverse engineer, modify, or redistribute the App or your account.
  • Upon suspension or termination, you must stop using the App and remove any Bantu branding from your vehicle or materials.

4. Providing Services

  • Operate professionally, obey all traffic laws, and follow Passenger instructions regarding route choices.
  • Do not carry unauthorized riders beyond the Passenger and their guests.
  • Supply and maintain at your expense a safe, insured vehicle and a GPS-enabled smartphone with sufficient data.

5. Fares & Payments

  • Fares are calculated by the App based on base fare, distance, and duration, subject to local adjustments.
  • Bantu collects Passenger payments and credits your account with the full Fare amount, provided your subscription is active.

6. Taxes & Costs

  • You are solely responsible for all costs of providing Services (fuel, maintenance, insurance, data) and for reporting and remitting all applicable taxes on your earnings.
  • Bantu may share your activity data with tax authorities if legally required.

7. Ratings & Activity

  • Passengers may rate your service. Your average rating and activity score are visible in the App.
  • Bantu may set minimum rating and activity thresholds. Failure to meet these after notice can result in suspension or termination.

8. Data & Privacy

We process your personal and trip data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You must also safeguard any Passenger data you access.

9. Liability & Indemnification

The App is provided “as is.” Bantu is not liable for lost earnings, accidents, or Passenger behavior. You indemnify Bantu against claims, losses, or fines arising from your breach of this Policy or applicable laws.

10. Suspension & Termination

  • You may terminate with 7 days’ notice. Bantu may terminate or suspend immediately for policy violations, safety risks, lapsed subscription, or poor performance.
  • Upon termination or suspension, your access to Services will cease, and no refunds of any subscription fees will be made.

11. Amendments

We may update these terms at any time by posting revisions and notifying you. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Driver Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Disputes will be resolved in Tanzanian courts.

By operating as a Driver on Bantu, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
